Video: Dance at Chennai doctors’ conference triggers row for being ‘vulgar’

A video of a dance performance during a doctors’ conference at a hotel in Chennai has gone viral on social media, with several users calling it “vulgar” and “indecent”.
A footage of the performance from the annual conference of the Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India went viral on social media, showing the female dancer sharing the floor with several delegates. However, a few of them caught hold of the dancer’s hand in an effort to pull her closer.
The conference was held from September 19 to 21 and the video went viral on September 24.
Sharing the video on X, a user identified as Dr Vijaychakravarth, said, “It is absurd to see such indecent dance in a doctor’s conference where alcohol is still being served. All this money will indirectly be acquired from people.”
Disclaimer: The video might look disturbing. Viewers’ discretion is advised.

“This annual Conference of the Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India, held in Chennai from 19th to 21st September. What I want to know from Indian Medical Association is this some kind of training in human anatomy? Old doctors grabbing a woman in public is what part of medicine practice?” he queried.
A banner with “ACRSICON 2024” can be seen in the video indicating the medical conference.
ACRSICON is an acronym for Annual Conference of the Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India.
The organisers of the event are yet to respond to the video.
