Description
“Copper Eagle Mask” by well known North Pacific Coast Native Artist Joe Bolton.Joe is a member of the Haisla First Nation Tribe in British Columbia.
The mask is dated 1999 and is 100% authentic, with the original artists completed information tag still attached. The mask is hand carved and painted by the artist. It is made of yellow cedar. Condition is exactly as pictured. It is nice & clean as it was only displayed under glass by the previous owner. I am the 2nd owner. There is a natural hairline in the yellow cedar on the beak that appears to have absorbed the original paint and made that line is slightly darker than the rest. If you look at the back, you can see some of the original paint bled through that same area. The artist has signed the inside as well. The mask is 6” x 4” and the original cost was 5 for this size. Joe has a following of national & International Collectors. His works can be seen in Galleries such as The Royal Ontario Museum and The University of British Columbia Museum of Anthropology.
