    Description

    For sale are a pair of Northwest Coast cedar plaques.
    These wall hanging plaques depict a carved bear in silhouette each one is the mirror image of the other.
    In NWC mythology, bear is a prominent image in crest & shamanic art and myths.  Bear is considered close to human due to how they take care of their young, stand on two feet, and gathering berries & plants.
    Plaques are signed "Ray Goldsmith Quamichan Ind Res Duncan BC.   Quamichan reserve is part of the Cowichan tribes in Duncan, B.C. on Vancouver Island.
    Measurements: 12 1/2 inches X 6 inches and these plaques are in very good conditonl.
